Spoilers blank Spartans 8-0
Grafton-Park River spoiled the home opener for the Spartans with a convincing 8-0 shutout.
Spartans open season with Bismarck High, Bismarck Century
The Fargo North hockey team opened the season 0-2 with losses to Bismarck High and Bismarck Century over Thanksgiving weekend.
The Spartans lost 6-5 to Century, despite Ryder Bekkedahl's two goals (one unassisted and the other assisted by Matt Trana). Also scoring for North was Patrick McClellan with an assist by Nick Kost; Jake McPhail with an assist by Kyle Berg and Kyle Berg with assists from Bekkedahl and McPhail. Goalie Jake Labernik had 33 saves.
Bismarck High topped the Spartans 3-1 in the Saturday, Nov. 24 contest. The Spartans lone goal was by Kyle Berg with an assist by Ryder Bekkedahl. Goalie Adam Aikens had 22 saves.
