Jay Erickson - Head Coach

 

Jay grew up in Fridley, MN and graduated from Spring Lake Park HS. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin -River Falls with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Minor in Coaching. His first teaching and coaching job was in Pine City, MN where he was the Head Hockey Coach from 1985-1988.  His next job was at Fridley HS in Fridley, MN where he was the Head Hockey Coach for two seasons.  In 1990 he began teaching in the Fargo Public Schools and was an Assistant Hockey Coach at Fargo South for seven years.  After taking time away from coaching to complete a Graduate Degree in Educational Administration, Erickson returned to the rink and coached at the youth level as the Bantam A Coach for the Fargo Flyers for two years.   In 2003 he was hired as an Assistant Coach at Fargo North HS before being hired last spring to be the Head Hockey Coach for the Spartans.  Jay’s family includes his wife Audrey and their three children, Jack, Anna, and Ellen.
