Storing Skates : keep guards on or off?
Hi, Im just wondering when i am storing my hockey ice skates, should i leave my soaker(cloth) skate guards on or off? Someone told me to leave it on but another person said to take it off to prevent rusting. Plz answers ty.
no dont leave them on. if you store the skates and the cloth soakers are still wet your blade will start to rust. and in some cases if it gets bad you wont be able to sharpen the rust out, so you will have to replace blades. so when your skates are dry, i'd recommend storing without soakers.
